A family changed; And it all started talking to a stranger in the gym

This past Sunday,  our family was given a reception  by FBC Dallas as I concluded my time as Pastor.  Several people gave us cards with kind  words of appreciation and  thanks and we are thankful for them.
One little girl gave me a card that she had made.  She signed it from her and her two little sisters.  Yeah; it was sweet.
Every card was special but there was one that really touched my heart.  As you would guess. there is some history behind the card.
I enjoy meeting new  people.  I love introducing myself to a total stranger and developing a relationship with them.  I really enjoy developing a relationship and getting to a point where  I can talk with them about their faith.
A few years ago, I met a man in the gym and  began getting to know him.  Then, I saw him at a local mall and chatted with him.  The next thing I know... he and his family are walking  in our worship  service.
Our family began getting to know his family and eventually, they joined the church.  He and his wife have expressed appreciation numerous times for what I did.  And, when they did, I would respond with "I was just doing my job..."
And that's where the card comes in.
This family gave me a card Sunday night that read in part; (I got permission to use this) "I know you said you were just doing your job by getting us at church.  Really it was so much more.  My family has transformed and if you had not been led to talk to a guy at the gym we would have missed out.  We appreciate you for that and for this friendship."
And, folks, THAT is what fires this Louisiana boy up.  To think that the Lord used my "gift of gab" as some have called it,(lol)  to somehow tell a man about Jesus well... I can't describe how  that feels.  And, that's what I  sense God leading me to do more of in the future... developing relationships with unsaved people and  leading them to faith in Christ and involvement in a local church.
Maybe there is another guy in the gym who needs to know Christ.
