I have trouble staying holy

Recently, we were having a staff Christmas lunch.  We were talking about the challenge of the Christian life. As we did, I said "I can't stay holy long."
That statement was not thought out; it just came out.  As I said it, other staff members chuckled.  As I thought about it, I realized "that's pretty close to the truth."
Now, before any well meaning Christian sends me an email accusing  me of not being spiritual, here me out.
I know the Bible says "Be holy because I am holy" (I Peter 1:16).  But are we holy 24/7?
The FACT is, none of us can stay holy very long.  Think  about it.
We are all human.  Every day we do battle with the flesh and the flesh is strong.  Now,someone  will say "Yes, but, Paul said "be filled with the spirit" (Eph. 5:18).  You are right.  That is exactly what Paul said.  But, does that mean we are filled with the spirit every second  of the day?  I'm not going to  lie; I'm not.  I am so thankful for God's grace.
Now, that's definitely our goal.  Every day we should strive to be holy.  But, we leak.
Let me put it this way; if you are constantly holy, you never judge anyone, you never get angry, you never lost your patience, you never think anything wrong..  Ok, have I listed enough examples?  Now, hopefully you see what I mean when I  say "I can't stay holy long."
But, here's the deal; when we are not holy, God forgives and forgives and forgives again.  Now, we should strive to live holy lives.  We don't get up the morning and think, "Ok, I know I can't be holy so I'm not going  to try."  No, we are to  strive to be holy but, when  we slip, thank the Lord, God's grace forgives.
