Are you ont the right road?

            I am terrible with directions.

            I admit it.

I can identify with popular author Max Lucado who says; “I can get lost anywhere…. The simplest map confuses me; the clearest trail bewilders me.  I couldn’t track an elephant through four feet of snow…”

            I can identify with that!

I can relate to Columbus who, as they say, “Didn’t  know where he was going when he left, didn’t know where he was when he got there, and didn’t know where he had been when he got back.”

One time, I went into the WRONG rest-room in a church.  I noticed that it smelled better than most men’s rest-rooms.  And there was a reason it smelled that way; it was a woman’s rest-room!

All of us have gotten lost at times.

One of the big questions of life is, “How can I know what God wants me to do?”

David asked that question.  David had just learned of Saul and Jonathan’s death.  David then asked of the Lord “Shall I go up to any of the cities of Judah?”  And the Lord said “Go up” (II Sam. 2:1).

David ran his options before God on other occasions.

On another occasion David asked if the men of Keilah would turn him over.  David was told they would (I Sam. 23:6-13).  So David went to God seeking direction many times.

What about you?  Have you asked God for directions?  If you haven’t, you should.  God made us and loves us and wants the best for us.  God has a plan for our lives and God’s plan is best.

So, again, do you know what God wants you to do?

Yogi Berra once said “We were going the wrong way but we were getting there fast.”

Are you going the wrong way?

The Bible says “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Prov. 14:12).

Jesus spoke of two roads in life.  He challenged us to "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matt. 7:13-14).

Be careful that you aren’t on the wrong road in life.  If you are, get on the right road today.
