"The overlooked, the underrated and the outright rejected"... playing in the Super Bowl

In today's A.J.C., the first sentence in one article read "The overlooked, the underrated and the outright rejected  have somehow landed in this Super Bowl..."  Here is a link to the article; www.ajc.com/sports/rejection-a-motivator-for-290278.html?cxntlid=daylf_tpcr

The article goes on to say that a couple of the Saints better players had been given up on by other teams.  Drew Brees had been rejected by the Chargers and Jeremy Shockey by the Giants.  Yet, Sunday they will march onto the Super Bowl turf playing for the Saints.

As I read that article over lunch it just reminded me that God often takes the rejects of the world and uses them for His glory.  God takes people with checkered pasts and other problems and uses them for His glory.  Someone said "I didn't have an inferiority complex; I was just plain inferior!"  That sounds like Lou Holtz but I'm not certain.  Maybe you can identify with that sentiment.

Or, maybe you are like the preacher who said "I didn't graduate 'Magna Cum Laude' but 'Laude How Come?"

      We all have "issues".

Drew Brees was done... or so the Chargers thought.

But Sunday he will the lead the Saints into the Super Bowl.

And, although he isn't  playing for the Saints, anyone ever heard of Kurt Warner?  He announced his retirement this year from professional football.  At one time, Warner was working in a grocery store!

I Corinthians 1:27 says "But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong."

So, God uses all people.  Just because you have slipped doesn't mean you can't get back up with the help of the Lord.
