Everyone is a winner in God's eyes

This is my weekly column for the Dallas "New Era" paper

This Sunday is “Super Bowl Sunday.”  The Super Bowl has become a major event in the U.S.  Many people who aren’t even NFL football fans will watch the game just because, well, it’s the Super Bowl.  All week, we will hear news from Miami, FL as the New Orleans Saints prepare to play the Indianapolis Colts.

I always enjoy the Super Bowl, but this year I’m a little more interested than normal because the Saints are in it.  Growing up in Louisiana, I can tell you that the Saints playing in the Super Bowl is HUGE.  This franchise has been an NFL doormat for years. Now, they are knocking on the door of being NFL champs.  Wow!  Who dat talk’n bout beat’n dem Saints!

Lots and lots and lots of money will be spent on the Super Bowl.  Ad revenues are HUGE for the Super Bowl.  Some people watch the game just to see the ads.  One of the ads that is planned for the Super Bowl involves former Florida QB Tim Tebow and his Mom in an ad designed by Focus on the Family to promote the Sanctity of Life.  I say “planned” because CBS is under pressure to remove it.  I hope they don’t.

Two teams will run onto the field Sunday night.  Only one will walk off a winner…. in the game at least.  Every player is a winner in the eyes of God.   And so are YOU.  God loves us all.  Celebrate the Super love of the Savior for you today!
