The Shepherds Made a Choice; What Choice Will You Make?

I am in a series of messages in our church on the scenes depicted in the stained glass windows in our church.  This Sunday we will look at the scene of the angels announcing the birth of Christ to the shepherds.  It's interesting that the first people to hear about the birth of Jesus were the shepherds.  Why is that so interesting?
Well, shepherds weren't exactly the "elite" of their day.  Yet, God chose them to be the first to hear of the birth of His Son.  That's a reminder to us that the gospel is for everyone.
The Bible says that when the angels left the shepherds, they decided to go and find out about the birth of Jesus.  They made a choice and their choice was to find Jesus.  We make choices every day.  Someone has said that our lives are essentially the "sum total of the decisions we make."
So, this Sunday we will look at a message entitled "Responding To The Savior."   What's your response?  Has the Holy Spirit been speaking to your heart about some decision recently?  I encourage you to respond affirmatively to what Jesus wants you to do.
Also, as I write this on Friday morning, the news is covering two primary stories.  The first is the tragic plane crash in Buffalo, NY.  We need to be in prayer for the families of those who died tragically on the plane.
Also, the stimulus bill is being debated and is close to a vote.  The numbers are staggering.  Let's be in prayer for our leaders.
